2016 EFCE Excellence Award in Mechanics of Particulate Solids

Congratulations to Christopher Ness who has been awarded the triennial EFCE Excellence Award in Mechanics of Particulate Solids. This award recognises a PhD thesis or papers which demonstrate an outstanding contribution to research and/or practice in Mechanics of Particulate Solids. Chris’s PhD research topic is ‘Suspension rheology and extrusion studied by discrete element simulations’, under the principal supervision of Dr Jin Sun. The award was presented during the plenary session of the International Congress on Particle Technology (PARTEC) in Nuremberg, Germany.
