Preparations are now being finalised for the T-MAPPP workshop. This will be held in conjunction with the 5th International Conference on Particle-Based Methods (PARTICLES 2017), in Hannover, Germany. The event will consist of a one-day T-MAPPP scientific workshop on 25 September. This precedes the main PARTICLES 2017 conference on 26–28 September at which there will be an invited T-MAPPP session. The workshop programme will include plenary lectures from Dr Martin Murtagh (Corning) and Prof. Wolfgang Peukert (Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen), and four break-out sessions on the following topics:

•          Material characterisation and calibration of simulation parameters
•          Verification and validation of numerical simulations
•          Upscaling of experimental and numerical results to plant scale
•          Coupling of different numerical techniques (e.g. CFD-DEM)
